Who We Are

In September 1996, twenty families from First Congregational United Church of Christ in downtown Naperville shared a vision of HOPE. With the encouragement of the national and regional United Church of Christ, HOPE United Church of Christ - dedicated to embracing all people - was formed.

Today, we are an intimate community of passionate world-changers. We seek to Witness to God’s Compassion; Enable God’s Justice; Prosper God’s Peace; and Be God’s Presence.

We believe we are called to be radical fighters for justice, equity, and love.

HOPE is a proud congregation within the United Church of Christ.

Worship

Worship is just one of the major ways we find fulfillment and purpose.

At HOPE, we enjoy both lectionary-based worship as well as non-traditional imaginings and reflections on God; no matter the format, our best worship services are relatable, thought-provoking, and spiritually challenging.

Our congregation’s diverse makeup and our deep belief in the sacredness of every human life calls us to worship in ways that are unique, diverse, and inclusive.

We believe that every human has the essence of God within them, and deserves to see themselves in God.

Personal Transformation

At HOPE, we believe that faith is formed over a lifetime, and we seek to provide ongoing spiritual formation and education for any age. We strongly believe that people of all ages are able to live into the full life and leadership of the church.

Who is God calling you to be? Come journey with us as you find out.
We believe that our faith is one of many instruments we must use to challenge the status quo and envision the Kin-dom of Heaven on Earth.

HOPE enjoys long-standing relationships with mutual aid groups, non-profits, and other spiritual leaders in the Aurora area and beyond. We are proud to partner with organizations that seek justice in all realms.

Seeking to understand and enact justice is at the heart of all that we do.

World Transformation

Community Building

Our environment of belonging is our greatest strength.

At HOPE, we believe in the transformative power of faith and community. The Holy Spirit moves through our intimacy and our connectedness with each other, and we feel it most when we share laughter and kinship.

Join us for potlucks, movie nights, protests, coffee hours, fellowship, and fun.
